The exhibition
Sustainable buildings for places of culture realized in Italy
Inauguration Rome, 18 June 2024
The exhibition is inaugurated in Rome in the gardens of the Acquario Romano on June 18, 2024, and then flies to Fayetteville, New York, Philadelphia, and Dubai.
SustainabITALY showcases good practices in the design of sustainable buildings in Italy, LEED-certified Gold and Platinum. The projects are in various Italian regions, from the North to the central South, and are selected mainly based on the rating associated with LEED certification and architectural quality. The cases involve both new construction and existing buildings.
The University of Arkansas Rome Program students designed the exhibition in two consecutive phases, a spring, and a summer workshop. The first phase consists of the design of the exhibition, while the second is its physical creation. Three young Roman designers are selected by the Ordine degli Architetti PPC di Roma e Provincia, participate in the first workshop from 8 to 19 April 2024, and act as project leaders. The best proposal is rewarded with the physical realization of the exhibition.
